Our pupils enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.
At St. Margaret’s we consider sport to be an integral part of education and development. Pupils have a full sporting programme, taught by specialist sports teachers, and we encourage healthy competition in PE and Games.
We firmly believe that the benefits children receive through sports, such as learning confidence, teamwork, discipline, patience and a sense of belonging carry positive reward to many other areas of their lives for the long-term.
PE CURRICULUM
Physical Education and Games is an important and well-regarded aspect of school life.
PE in the Early Years concentrates on developing ball skills building to small-sided games; athletics-type activities and gymnastics, in conjunction with work on apparatus.
Football, futsal, netball, rugby, swimming, golf, badminton, cricket, hockey, athletics and cross country are all introduced as pupils move through the school. From Year 3, we openly encourage our children to choose the sport that they are passionate about, whether it be netball or football, hockey or rugby.
We are fortunate to be able to offer golf lessons with a PGA professional to all our Year 3-6 pupils on the curriculum, further advancing opportunities at the school.
